S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Ecclesiastes 8:15
So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.
O-bservation:
King Solomon, known by most as the wisest man to ever live, said some pretty outrageous things, in my opinion. But he’s dead on with his statement here. Men and women receive the opportunity, from time to time, to have an unusually wonderful time on the town. As is stated in this passage, it may be that they have a wonderful meal together. After the dinner is over, Solomon says, “Be Glad!” If you “Be Glad,” JOY will accompany you from that point on in your life.
A-pplication:
I’m not predisposed to “Be Glad” because I have lots of different categories of people I lead at this stage of my life. People are your greatest asset, but they can also be your greatest potential source of frustration. Solomon doesn’t give HOW to Be Glad. Also, he doesn’t give the three potential threats to Being Glad. NO! He says, “Be Glad.” I think it has something to do with a person’s personal relationship with the Lord. Once that relationship is on solid ground, you’re able to live daily with a “Be Glad” Modus Operandi! The next time you have a great time at lunch or a fine dining experience with your spouse or business team, don’t question it. “Be Glad!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m going to choose one more time to “Be Glad.” With Your help, I’ve always been able to find the victory and bring it up from the jaws of defeat! With all my heart, and with Your help, I will continue to “BE GLAD!” Amen
