Have you ever let fear take control? I know I have. And I’ve seen people who are so afraid that they pass out when they get up too high or scream and jump when they see a little spider or a mouse. More seriously, I’ve seen people who are afraid to trust others, who are afraid of marriage, and who are afraid of change. Here’s what I want to tell you today: Let Go Of FEAR!
You really only have two choices. You can allow fear to control you, or you can let God’s peace rule your heart and mind (Col. 3:15). Scripture is quite clear about the right choice. When reading the Bible, we see that the Lord tells His people over and over not to be afraid or discouraged. And really, when you think about it, we have Jesus on our side so what do we really have to fear?
I’m not saying we aren’t going to have troubles, because we are. I’m not saying we aren’t going to face battle after battle, but that is okay because we are ready to FIGHT! And we will experience the kind of instinctive fear that is built in to warn us of danger, because we aren’t invincible. But you and I must be careful not to let fear, the kind that can run our lives, take over! Why? Because Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Today, make a promise to yourself that you are going to stop listening to all the lies the enemy tells you. There is nothing too big for God. Nothing! Faith is your key to overcoming and defeating fear once and for all. Now, let’s do it. Let Go of FEAR!
