What Are You Facing?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Jeremiah 39:18
I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord.

O-bservation:

This was a message given by God to Jeremiah as he was being released from his time in prison under the King of Judah named Zedekiah. God said, “Go to my servant Ebedmelech, the Cushite, who has treated you well, and tell him Nebuchadnezzar is going to ransack the land of Judah but I will save you! Because you have trusted me, I will save you!”

A-pplication:

You can imagine the fear this man from Ethiopia was living under. Jerusalem was being destroyed, and Nebuchadnezzar would have his way. Certainly, a foreigner like Ebedmelech would be expendable, however, Ebedmelech had honored God and cared for Jeremiah under his most desperate times, and so God spared his life. This causes me to ask you today, “What Are You Facing?” That’s right! Could it be worse than what this foreign man Ebedmelech, was living? I doubt it. Yet here, the Bible records the facts concerning Ebedmelech’s release from fear. When King Zedekiah’s sons were killed, and the king’s eyes poked out, and as a blind man finished his last days living in Babylon, this man named Ebedmelech heard God say, “You trusted in me, I will save you!” If you trust in Jesus today, whatever it is that you’re facing, I believe that just like Ebedmelech heard the Lord say, you will also hear him say, “I will save you!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m so grateful that many years ago, I trusted you. Because of that, you have brought me such a long way, and I have always heard your voice saying, “Rich I will save you!” Amen
