Too Blessed to Stress

Do you feel overwhelmed by stress and pressure? Stress is nothing new for Followers of Jesus. Scripture is full of encouragement for those who are dealing with the trials and tribulations life brings. And that encouragement is always based on faith.
I want to share with you today a few lessons about dealing with stress that we can learn from just one of those encouraging verses.
“For this reason, brothers and sisters, during all our distress and suffering we have been comforted and greatly encouraged about you because of your faith [your unwavering trust in God—placing yourselves completely in His loving hands]” (1 Thess. 3:7, AMP).
Recognize your stress, don’t ignore it! “during all of our distress and suffering”
Stress has a way of sneaking up on us, and by then it is already overwhelming. When you examine your life and acknowledge what is causing your stress, you can deal with it before it takes over. Keep Psalm 119:143 at the front of your mind as you face your stressors. “As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.”
You will be comforted. “we have been comforted and greatly encouraged”
You are not alone. No matter how hopeless your situation may seem in the beginning, the Holy Spirit is always there to bring you comfort! He fills us with comfort not only so we can deal with our own stress, he comforts us so we in turn can comfort others. “Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Cor. 1:4).
You will be greatly encouraged.
God has already promised to provide for you and to bring you cheer (Gen: 50:21; Ps. 94:19; John 16:33)! You are blessed in ways you don’t even know and understand yet. “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord” (Ps. 31:24).
Your Faith will sustain you!
Our God will never let you down. He is with you ALWAYS. “All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus. When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go. So don’t let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud!” (Eph. 3:12-13, The Message).
Instead of letting stress rule your life, do this today: Face your stress, accept comfort from the Holy Spirit, be encouraged, and STEP OUT IN FAITH! Your What If answer is waiting, all you need to do is have FAITH!
