The Most Holy Place

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ezekiel 41:4

And he measured the length of the inner sanctuary; it was twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits across the end of the main hall. He said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”

O-bservation:

One bible commentator says chapters 40-48 of the book of Ezekiel are the most difficult in the entire word of God to interpret. In Ezekiel 40:3, a man is introduced in a vision to Ezekiel. It appears that this man is Jesus. He takes Ezekiel on a journey into a new Jerusalem. He shows the prophet some buildings that, by measurement, replicate Solomon’s Temple. Many believe Jesus was showing Ezekiel a picture of the Church and not the Old Testament religious interpretation. Here, as he takes Ezekiel into a certain part of the inner temple, he says, “This is The Most Holy Place.”

A-pplication:

As I pen this post, our church here in Miami is getting ready to celebrate the Old Testament “Day of Atonement” this coming Sunday. It is the Jewish New Year, better known today as Yom Kippur. It was the celebration during which, once a year, the high priest was allowed to go into the “Holy of Holies” and make atonement for the people’s sins. God, in turn, would give them a clean slate, spiritually, for the upcoming year. When Jesus became God’s once and for all sacrificial lamb for the sins of all humankind, He tore the veil in the temple and made it possible for all of us to enter into “The Most Holy Place” to obtain mercy by way of a simple prayer of repentance. I’m grateful today that “The Most Holy Place” is accessible to every one of us who will call on the name of the Lord.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this AM that You made a way for me to receive access any time of the day or night to enter into “The Most Holy Place” in my time of need. Amen
