Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Corinthians 16:13
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

O-bservation:

Here in the last chapter of St Paul’s first letter to the Church at Corinth, he writes, “The 4 BEs.” They are ‘BE’ on your guard. ‘BE’ always standing firm in the faith. ‘BE’ courageous. ‘BE’ strong!

A-pplication:

“The 4 BEs,” to the church worldwide, are very difficult to BE! What I mean by that is Paul wrote this letter to the early Church at Corinth, that was always under some type of persecution. So he wasn’t writing in a time of peaceful serenity to the first-century church. NO! Jesus, the founder of the church, was crucified on the cross. St Paul and ten others of the original apostles would be martyred for their Christian faith, as were thousands upon thousands of Christians in the early church. Today this angst against Christians worldwide is definitely on the rise. So, God’s word to us today is the same as it was to the first-century church. BE on your guard. Stay ready; don’t get caught being lazy in your faith. BE always standing firm in your faith. Run as far away from compromise as you possibly can while showing grace to those who have yielded their faith. BE courageous. Whatever it takes for you to DO THE RIGHT THING, you and I must do it! And finally, BE strong. When others appear to be drowning in the muck and mire of sin while waving their Christian flag, keep treading! Be STRONG! Remember church, God will always be with us in the midst of every trial.

Dear Jesus,

I’m ready TO BE what you want me TO BE! Both today and every day! Amen
