Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 31:16

Surely all the wealth that God took away from our father belongs to us and our children. So do whatever God has told you.

O-bservation:

These are the words of Jacobs’ wives, Leah and Rachel. His father-in-law’s disposition had turned against him, and he was forced to take his livestock and employees and leave Laban’s land and territory. But getting daughters to leave their father’s family and way of doing things is usually difficult. Jacob called the two women together and told them what was happening. His wives said, “Jacob, you must do what the Lord is telling you to do.”

A-pplication:

“Marriage And Family” is what makes the world go around. Yet it seldom goes smoothly. There are family laws and in-laws to deal with at every turn. But once again, a strong family is what allows children and children’s children to build upon strong foundations. There’s a long story that I don’t have time to tell in this post that goes into Jacob having to separate from his wives’ father and way of doing life. However, when he approached his wives, their answer was how every “Marriage And Family” should respond. They said to their husband, “Jacob, you must do whatever it is God is telling you to do.” But, of course, they were also saying, “And we will follow whatever he tells you.” When people follow the will of God, it makes for a strong “Marriage And Family!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I don’t have enough words to tell you how grateful I am for the wonderful wife and family you’ve blessed me with. My Robyn has always said, “What is the Lord saying to you, honey, because whatever He says, we will do!” Thank you, Jesus! Amen
