S-cripture:

Psalm 127:3

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

O-bservation:

Here the Psalmist wrote that Children are a reward of the Lord to people here on earth. Whether a person follows Jesus or not, the Lord still blesses them. Rich, or poor, or in between, God blesses people with children. Sometimes a child can pull generations of his or her family out of poverty into prosperity. There are so many benefits that children bring into our lives. Truly the reward is, “From God To Us.”

A-pplication:

If you’re a parent, what is the greatest gift God ever gave you? I can understand a single person giving answers like great parents, wonderful education, talents, abilities, money, house, independence, and I could probably give twenty more responses that a single person would answer. Yet, a parent would have to say, “The child, God gave me.” Oh, I know some parents have been to hell and back with a child, yet my wife and I have learned that sometimes while in hell, we’ve learned God’s greatest lessons. Our third son was brain damaged as a result of spinal meningitis at the age of just six months. Today he’s thirty-five, and the struggles with him and the questions we’ve asked God like “WHY US,” have only made our relationship and our family stronger. In fact, all four of our sons have been “From God To Us!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m so grateful this AM for your goodness to Robyn and me. You have given us so many blessings through the years, but our four children have been the greatest gifts we’ve ever received. Thank you, Jesus! Amen
