S-cripture:
Mark 15:13
“Crucify him!” they shouted.
O-bservation:
These are the words the people of Jerusalem screamed when Pilot asked them, “What shall I do with this man, Jesus?” When they immediately answered, “Crucify Him,” Pilot responded with a question. “Why? What crime has he committed?” They did not answer but quickly screamed it out again, “Crucify Him!”
A-pplication:
Sadly, our nation and the world have returned to a time of history where men and women are so disturbed that their main response is to crucify anyone they have decided to hate. And believe me, HATRED is the order of the day. Very few people are here for a discussion, what we used to call a good “sit down” where we would lay the issues on the table and have a good airing out of the disagreements we have. No! Instead, if they could get away with it, there’s a good chance they’d crucify their opposition. The problem is, the opposition are often members of one’s own immediate family! And the issues are usually DUMB! Why has this happened? I believe it’s an unwillingness to listen to the other side. Why? Because so many have decided, “Don’t confuse me with the facts, I’ve already made up my mind!” It’s like a judge who at the last minute receives fresh information on the individual who is slated to be executed at midnight. Instead, it says, “I’ve listened to his arguments for years, and there’s nothing more to consider, go ahead and execute (Crucify) him!” I fear that we’re sending far too many to the gallows without a good discussion. Simply because “I’ve already made up my mind! I’m right, your wrong, and that settles it.” This mindset was so prevalent in Jesus’ day that they killed God! Please don’t let yourself be chained to the prison of your own wrong assumptions. If you do, they may come for you soon screaming, “Crucify Her!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Lord, give me an OPENED mind to hear all the arguments. According to Your Word, You don’t want ANYONE on the planet to perish, but for all to come to eternal life in Christ. Amen
