Does scripture require baby dedication?

The Bible does not require children to be dedicated but we do see examples of this in the scripture. Such as when Hannah presented her first born son Samuel. “For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.”

1 Samuel 1:27-28 KJV

Is it just babies?

Not necessarily. We usually register infant up to 6-year-old to be dedicated.

What's the cutoff age for baby dedications?

We usually dedicate children up to 6-years-old.

What happens during a baby dedication?

It is a special ceremony that takes place during our 1:30pm service. We ask parents and children to come on stage while the family members and friends stay seated. The pastors then read out loud the name of the child before the congregation. The pastor then prays over the children and their families.

What can I expect in the ceremony?

Same answer previous question above.

What should I bring?

Your child. And you can invite family and friends

Whom should I bring?

Same answer previous question above.

Do I need to be a member of the church?
