Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

James 5:13a
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.

O-bservation:

James, the writer of this book, said that if you know someone in trouble, they should pray. Not tomorrow or next week, but right now. Some will say, “I’m in trouble I’m going to call,” and then they go through a list, doctor, lawyer, insurance agent, or banker. But, if you’re the one in trouble, “All You Should Do Right Now Is Pray!”

A-pplication:

Four days ago, I was up early praying, and I received a call from my sister-in-law, who runs the education departments of our church here in Miami. She said, “Rich, I have a tragic news today.” Then she mentioned the name of one of our people whose wife is on staff here and said, “His brother and his brother’s little girl were killed last night while on their summer vacation.” It happened in another state, and the authorities are still trying to figure out what’s happening as I write. I immediately called the man who I’ve known for over ten years and is a good friend of mine. He was and is, at this writing still, devastated. He was choked up so bad that he couldn’t talk initially. I said, and I called his name, “We’re gonna pray!” He said, “Please do Pastor Rich!” After I said, “Amen,” he said, “Thank you pastor!” He had only received the word thirty minutes earlier, and when there was nothing else to do, WE PRAYED! I trust if you’re in trouble this AM, that it’s nothing like I just mentioned, but whatever kind of trouble you may be facing today, “All You Should Do Right Now, Is Pray!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I need you this AM like never before. Because of the tragedy mentioned in the script above, I am still troubled after four days, and I know you don’t want to hear this, but I’m still asking, “WHY?” I know that you can make good come out of this evil act. That’s why I’m still praying about this four days later! Love you! Amen
