A Lesson On Worship

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Revelation 22:9

But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophet’s and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”

O-bservation:

As The Revelation was coming to an end, John the Beloved fell in worship at the feet of the angel who had shown him such majestic visions of the future. Immediately the angel said, “Don’t do such a thing. I’m a servant just like you and the historical prophets. Please only worship God!”

A-pplication:

This is an important “Lesson On Worship.” Let’s not try to drill down into what happened here because you can imagine what you would have done if you had been John receiving this incredible vision. He didn’t know what else to do. He most likely had no money, or he would have offered it to the angel. He was exhausted, and certainly any words of wisdom he might have had seemed elementary to what the angel had already given John. So he fell down and worshipped the angel. We would have probably done the same thing. So, what about today? There are so many voices here on earth from the Lord, but the applause they receive could be interpreted as worship of that individual. Let’s be careful to thank the Lord for our dear instructors and be quick to worship God alone! And as we look forward to the New Year tomorrow, remember that He alone is worthy!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I can never worship You enough. I sometimes run out of words in my admiration and adoring of you. Your majesty is never-ending, and Your supply is why I’m breathing today. Thank You for this great year. Amen
