Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Corinthians 13:5

Examine yourself to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you — unless, of course, you fail the test?

O-bservation:

Here St. Paul was concluding his second letter to the Church at Corinth, and he talked to them about taking a personal examination of where each of them were spiritually! The examination had to do with whether they could really know if they were standing strong in the faith. Paul said they would pass the test when they realized that Christ was in them and giving them the strength to live their faith out. Unless of course, Paul said, “You fail the test.”

A-pplication:

I know I’ve talked a lot about this in the past several weeks, but how many times have you taken a spiritual EKG and learned that you were only going through the motions of being a “Follower of Jesus?” This is something that every Christian is tempted by. We are tempted to live the part but not really have Jesus so fully embedded in our hearts that He’s what comes out of us in any given challenge. His character, integrity, love, gentle spirit, generosity, and putting others first ahead of himself are the qualities of Jesus living in us. You may be wondering if you would pass the test if you took it today? Well, there’s only one way to find out. Take, “The EXAMINATION!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m taking “The Examination.” I want to be like you, my God. I want to know that it’s not religion coming out of me, but it’s you who lives in me, monitoring my every action and thought process. Amen
