God Wants To Bless

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Deuteronomy 15:6

For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

O-bservation:

This chapter begins with the Lord telling the Israelis that every seven years, they must forgive any debt that is owed to them by a fellow Israelite. Then He said, “There shouldn’t be any poor people among you who are Israelites. I will help you if you keep my commands! If you will, I will make sure that you will never be the borrower, and instead, you will always be the lender.” From the beginning, it’s obvious that “God Wants To Bless.”

A-pplication:

Why is poverty is everywhere around us? Why is brother fighting brother? Why is it that everyone seems to be in debt? Why is it that many children worldwide and in this country are trying to figure out who their father is? Why is it that hope is spoken at every turn, but there seems to be no hope for so many? Why is it that chaos seems to be normal? Well, social scientists are now blaming everyone. They blame the nations, the politicians, the church, the home, the educational systems, and the most recently, white supremacy. They don’t blame God because, by most accounts, they don’t believe there is a God. But thousands of years ago, God said, “Obey me, and I will bless you.” For a while, it worked, and then even His own people, the Jewish nation, turned on Him. I say let’s all get back to God. I actually believe He does exist. When we do, we have this one assurance. “God Wants To Bless!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

You have always blessed me! No matter what happens in the future, I will proclaim that my “God Wants To Bless!” Amen
