Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Ephesians 2:4-5

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

O-bservation:

This passage tells us that it’s not that we weren’t doing well before the Grace of God touched us. The truth is, “We Were Dead” in trespasses and sins, doomed to a Christless eternity. That’s right, no amount of trying to do good could have saved us. Only the wonderful grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, made it happen.

A-pplication:

Have you ever been in such a fix that you couldn’t fix it? Have you ever had someone tell you that you were too bad to do anything else but be bad? Have you ever been at a place in your life where you felt as if no one cared for you at all? Unfortunately, that is the plight of every human ever born on this planet. The pull of sin is so intense that it’s hard for anyone ever to do good without some underlying agenda, and of course, that in itself is a sin. But, wait, enter King Jesus. When Jesus comes in, sin’s chains are broken. The grip of hell is released, and the fear of eternity vanishes. Why? Because “We Were Dead,” but now we are alive through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, it’s not hard for me to remember that “I Was Dead” before I met You. I had no hope and lived in fear. However, when You came into my life, everything changed. Today I am alive in You, my Lord. Amen
