The Longevity Of God’s Promise

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Genesis 12:2
I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

O-bservation:

God told Abram that He would build a great nation out of him. God told him that he, Abram, would be a blessing to many.

A-pplication:

This story proves “The Longevity Of God’s Blessing.” Certainly Abraham’s view of this promise and our present day view are vastly different. Shortly after the promise, Abraham was given cattle and sheep from the Pharaoh of Egypt. Then he rescued his nephew, Lot, from enemy kings with 318 of his men. Most likely, Abraham thought “I have been built into a great nation.” But it’s difficult to build a great nation in a generation. Certainly Abraham could never have imagined that some 4,000 years later we would still be talking about him and recognizing the greatness of the Jewish people throughout the ages. The promises of God for us last long beyond our lifetime, if we’ll live as He has asked us to live. You can build a legacy on just one promise from God.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for Your promises. I’m living on them everyday. I’m trusting You for a real long run. Amen
