Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Nehemiah 4:14b
“Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”
O-bservation:
These were the words of Nehemiah to his workers on the wall of Jerusalem. They were rebuilding the wall and ready to fight at any moment, but word had come to them that neighboring nations had heard of what they were doing and were gathering against them. They were already stressed because of local interference led by two antagonists, Sanballat and Tobiah. When their courage began to wane, Nehemiah stepped in and simply said, “Remember The Lord,” is with us.
A-pplication:
When I’m in trouble, and it seems as if I’m losing ground instead of winning new territory, I always stop and ask myself this question. “Is The Lord With Me?” The reason why this is an important question is because either this is something that you alone want to accomplish, or it’s something that the Lord has spoken to you to do! There have been times that I have been so down and felt so defeated, but then I hear this voice within me, “Remember The Lord,” told you to do it! It is then that somehow I am strengthened in my spirit and flesh to keep going. When Nehemiah told these men, “Remember The Lord,” immediately they were encouraged and somehow won an impossible task simply by remembering who had told them to do what they were doing. When you know you are under divine appointment, and the task seems impossible, “Remember The Lord!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m encouraged already just reading this familiar passage from your Word. Help today, I pray to remember that you are with me. Amen
