Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
1 Kings 8:56
Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
These are the words of Solomon that he used when he blessed the people of Israel on the day he dedicated the temple he had built for the Lord. He was quick to remind the people of Israel that of all the promises the Lord God had given through the prophet Moses hundreds of years before, “Not One Word Has Failed!”
Just the other day, I heard the president of my country have to say on national broadcasts that one of the promises he had made, he would have to turn back on since things had changed since he had first made the promise. That sounded like the president before him and the one before him. Each one of the leaders that I have lived under has broken promises. I’ve heard the doctor say that the cancer would not return to a number of families I’ve served in my lifetime. Many of them broke their promise because the family member was gone in a year. Of course, there are a thousand illustrations of men and women breaking their promises, but this AM, I want to remind you that not once, not ever, has our Lord broken his promise. In fact, “Not One Word Has Failed.” You can trust him today.
On this wonderful morning, I can tell you that I am once again facing issues in my life and work that I must address. Yet, I’m grateful that each issue I face comes with a promise you have made to help me past it. And I know that when you make a promise, “Not One Word Has Failed!” Amen
