Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Samuel 17:11
On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed and terrified.
O-bservation:
I’m sure there is a chance you’ve heard this story before, but in case you haven’t, it’s the story of a ten-foot-tall giant named Goliath. The Bible says that he had come out to fight Israel and asked for a man of equal physical strength to fight him. Goliath said whoever kills the other that nation will be the slave masters of the other nation. The Bible says that when the Israelites heard this giant, the Israelites were dismayed and terrified. In other words, they were “Melted By Fear!”
A-pplication:
I know a lot of people who live in dismay and in some cases, they live terrified. They are not able to fully embrace the call of Jesus in their lives because they have been “Melted By Fear,” by the enemy of our souls. The devil. Every believer knows that the battle is always for your mind. And the battle usually centers around FEAR brought on by the devil and FAITH promoted by Jesus. When we live and walk by faith there’s always this hope, that no matter what happens to me in any given situation, “I know my God will come through for me!” If you’ve been “Melted By Fear,” I encourage you to change sides today. Let Jesus help you to walk and live by FAITH!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so grateful this AM that you have taught me to live by and walk by FAITH and not by what I see. I’m praying for my friend today that you would do the same for them. Amen
