S-cripture:

Acts 13:30

But God raised him from the dead.

O-bservation:

This line is part of the message Paul the Apostle preached when he and Barnabas set out on their first missionary journey. In Antioch, he and Barnabas were asked to speak in the temple. Paul rose and gave the people of Jewish heritage and other Gentiles who were in the room a lesson in history from Abraham to the life of Christ and told of Jesus’ sacrificial death on the Cross. He took the people to the burial site of Jesus in his message and then said, “But God raised him from the dead.”

A-pplication:

If you think about it, every Christian has a “But God” testimony in their life. For instance, “I was lost and strung out on drugs, But God delivered me and gave me a new life!” Or “My mother and father fought all the time. There came a point where I thought my father may kill my mother one day, But God revealed himself to my parents through his son Jesus and now their life together is so different that my friends don’t believe the stories I tell them of what it was like in our home before Jesus changed our family.” I think you see what I’m trying to say. All of us have stories that we’d rather forget of how bad it was, “But God” changed us. If He raised His son Jesus from the grave, I’m sure He can deliver you from your great challenge today.

Dear Jesus,

Today I’m so grateful that in my darkest hour You came to me and picked me up and turned me around. You placed my feet on solid ground and because of it, I’m no longer the same. Amen
