Passover and Easter: A Promise of Blessings

As we approach Passover, I want to take just a few minutes to have a heart-to-heart with you about why Passover, and the entire Easter season, is so important to each of us here at Trinity Church.
Passover is:
• an integral part of our relationship with God
• the fulfillment of a promise and a new covenant between God and each of us
• a call to obedience and a promise of great blessings if we obey
To truly understand what Passover means to us today, we have to look at where and why it began in the first place.
God commanded His people to come together three times a year to feast and give sacrifices (Deuteronomy 16:16). They did this even when they were in captivity in Egypt. Leading up to their last Feast of Passover in that country, God promised His children: “I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment” (Exodus 6:5-6).
He made it clear that this was to be a time of new beginnings: “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year” (Exodus 12:1-2). When He told them this, the Israelites were still living as slaves in the land of Egypt.
God’s people needed a new beginning—and perhaps you do as well.
The Israelites had a problem though, no matter what miracles and plagues Moses showed Pharaoh, he refused to let God’s people go.
God gave His people a powerful promise, and that promise can still transform your life today. Today the promise is fulfilled through the blood of Jesus. You actually receive supernatural protection when the blood of Jesus shields your heart, mind, your body, family, finances, and every other aspect of your life.
I want to remind you again, as you are preparing your Passover Offering, remember these 7 Blessings He is preparing for YOU, just as He prepared them for the people of Israel!
1. An angel of God has been assigned to you to keep you and lead you to your miracle (Exodus 23:20).
2. God will be an enemy to your enemies (Exodus 23:22-23).
3. He will give prosperity to you (Exodus 23:25).
4. God will take sickness away from you (Exodus 23:25).
5. You shall not die before your appointed time – long life span (Exodus 23:26).
6. Increase and inheritance will be yours (Exodus 23:30).
7. A one-year blessing: your promises that what the enemy has stolen will be taken from the enemy and returned to you (Exodus 23:29).
When you honor Him this Passover and Easter by recognizing what Jesus did on the cross for you, by thanking Him for the sacrifice He paid for your salvation, and by coming before Him in worship with your Passover offering, you can have confidence that God will do His part and fulfill His Passover promises to you!
It’s as simple as this –
God’s Command: Honor Me, Worship Me, Give Generously in My Name
His Promise: Guidance, Protection, Prosperity, Healing, Longevity, Increase, Restoration
Are you ready for His Passover promises?! I know I am!
