S. O. A. P. Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional! S-cripture: Matthew 3:5 People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordon. O-bservation: John the Baptist was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy given by Isaiah hundreds of years earlier. He was a different kind of religious figure. He dressed in camel hair and wore a leather belt. His diet consisted of locusts and wild honey. He evidently lived in the wilderness of Judea because that’s where he preached on a regular basis. It meant that the people had to go to where he was to hear his messages. A-pplication: You’d have to say that what John the Baptist accomplished in a relatively short period of time was what we commonly refer to today as REVIVAL! Can you imagine someone as different as him, who had to rely on a camel to die to be clothed and ate bugs and honey as a steady diet would be appealing in any way? Just like Jeremiah, who had been called from his mother’s womb to be a prophet to the nations, John too had been anointed and called from his mother’s womb to be the forerunner to Jesus Christ, God’s Son....
