S. O. A. P. Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional! S-cripture: Deuteronomy 10:16 Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer. O-bservation: Moses told the people about his going back to the top of Mt. Sinai with two new tablets he had to chisel out of stone like the first ones God had given him. Once there, God wrote the Ten Commandments on the stone tablets again. Moses returned down the mountain and put the tablets in the Ark of the Covenant. God told Moses to report to the people of Israel to circumcise their hearts and stop being rebellious towards the Lord. A-pplication: All through the Old Testament, we see the Lord plead with His people, as in Joel 2:13, to “rend their hearts and not their garments.” In other words, God continually encouraged His people to take care of the inside of their hearts. He wanted them to get their hearts right. He wanted their motivations and desires, and pursuits to be pure. If they did this, He’d take care of them. The Lord’s desire for His people to naturally love Him and want Him is palpable throughout the Old Testament. It begs the question, “Does God Have A Need?” I will never...
